HISTORY

The Romanian Aviation Company ROMAVIA was established in April 1991 as an autonomous administration under the coordination of the Romanian Ministry of Defense and as the main designated operator of state flights for the Romanian Presidential Administration, Government and Parliament.
In addition to the public services of national interest, ROMAVIA operates commercial passenger services (for individuals or organized groups) as scheduled charter flights( regular days and times of departure/arrival).
ROMAVIA also provides ad-hoc or chain of charter flights for travel agencies, sport clubs, companies and other clients.
ROMAVIA operates  1  Boeing 707 model 3K1C and 2 modern BAe146-200 and has its own maintenance and repair facilities based on Otopeni airport.

The airline’s operation and engineering base is at Bucharest “Henri Coanda” International Airport (Otopeni) and head-office in Bucharest, Unirii Square: 1, Dimitrie Cantemir Blvd Bl B2 

   

AUTHORIZATIONS

ROMAVIA holds the following certificates and licences:

  • AIR OPERATING LICENCE LTA 02-edition 2 from 29 December 2006, issued by the Ministry of Transport of Romania.
  • AIR OPERATOR CERTIFICATE No. RO-002 in accordance with JAR OPS 1, since 16 December 2006.
  • APPROVAL CERTIFICATE,  Reference: RO.145.02, as  a Part-145 maintenance organisation, since 18 January 2007.
  • APPROVAL CERTIFICATE,  Reference: RO.MG.002, as a continuing airworthiness management organisation as refered to in Part-M Section A Subpart G,  issued by Romanian CAA, since 9 August 2007.
  • EASA finding of compliance alternative procedures demonstrating capability for design AP259, issued by European Aviation Safety Agency, since 30.01.2007
