LOST & FOUND
a) If your baggage is missing on arrival
Missing baggage should be reported immediately upon arrival to ROMAVIA local agent. If, for some reason, this was not possible, please contact ROMAVIA local agent at the airport where you arrived, in order to fill in a Property Irregularity Report (PIR), in which you have to indicate your home address, your temporary address and any phone, mobile and fax numbers. This must be done within 21 days of your arrival. After this deadline, your report cannot be processed. You will receive the Property Irregularity Report with the contact details of our local agent and a file reference number.

The majority of misdirected baggage is located within 24 hours, therefore it is important to report the baggage missing before leaving the airport.
If any of your details have changed or if, once you reviewed your file, you would like to make corrections, please notify ROMAVIA local agent immediately in order to update your file accordingly. It would also be most helpful if you would ensure that your name, address and baggage description details are correct. This will help ROMAVIA to trace and return your baggage to you in the shortest possible time.
We will advise you once your baggage has been located and arrange a convenient time for delivery. In case that, due to the customs formalities, it may not be possible to deliver your baggage to the address you are staying, you will need to pick up your baggage from the airport yourself.
b) If your baggage has not been located within 5 days
In the unlikely event that your baggage has not been located within 5 days, you need to fill in a second form (Baggage Questionnaire and Inventory Form - BIF) with as many details about the baggage items as possible, as well as a description of the contents, in order to allow ROMAVIA to extend the search. You are also requested to advise ROMAVIA the file reference number.
This Baggage Questionnaire and Inventory Form (BIF) can be obtained by contacting ROMAVIA head office or follow the link .
The BIF must be completed within 21 days of your arrival and to be sent to ROMAVIA head office.
ROMAVIA will continue the search for your baggage for 90 calendar days after the initial report. After 90 calendar days, your baggage will be considered as lost and you are entitled to compensation.
c) If your baggage has been damaged
Damaged baggage should be reported and examined at the airport immediately upon arrival by ROMAVIA local agent. If, for some reason, this was not possible, you may submit your claim in writing to ROMAVIA local agent within 7 days of your arrival, together with:
ROMAVIA will decide weather the baggage can be repaired or must be replaced.
Note: ROMAVIA is not liable for any scratches, dents, cuts, scuffs, dirt and any other minor damage to suitcases or other pieces of baggage or for the damage to handles, wheels, locks or straps or any other protruding parts of suitcases of pieces of baggage which may occur through normal use, unless this damage is caused by ROMAVIA deliberate recklessness or intent.
d) If there is something missing from your baggage
If some or all of the contents of your baggage are missing due to damage or theft, it should be reported to ROMAVIA local agent at the airport immediately upon arrival. If, for some reason, this was not possible, your claim can still be reported in writing within 7 days of your arrival to ROMAVIA local agent. Claims received after this deadline will be dismissed.
NOTE: ROMAVIA is not responsible for fragile or perishable items, items having a special value such as jewellery / money, precious metals, computers, personal electronic devices, share certificates, bonds, negotiable papers, securities or other valuables, business documents, passports, samples and other identification documents.
e) right of compensation in case of delay, loss or damage of your baggage
1) If your baggage is still missing one day after arrival, you are entitled to compensation on the expenses you have incurred as an immediate result o f the fact that your baggage is missing. The compensation is limited to maximum amount of 20 EURO per day / baggage registered on the ticket (or a part of it). The compensation will be paid for a maximum of 3 days. ROMAVIA will compensate only the reasonable expenses that have been incurred, after the receiving of the original receipts, the baggage tag and the original PIR.
ROMAVIA refunds once a maximum of 15 EURO, within the above limit (total 60 EURO) for purchase of cosmetics and only compensates phone costs to its local agent.
2) In case of lost or damage of your baggage, the Art. 13 of ROMAVIA General Conditions of Carriage applied.
f) ensure your baggage safety
To avoid the possibility of losing your baggage either due to airline's fault or a fellow passenger's fault because of identical appearance of the baggage - Label all your baggage with Name Label, that gives your address, destination port, telephone number etc.
Lock all bags and remove old destination and identification tags before checking baggage
